The story begins when a mysterious UFO invades the city, abducting its residents. Foreseeing the danger, Grandmama casts a protective spell on the Addams Family while Gomez guards the mansion. Uncle Fester takes matters into his own hands, venturing into the city to rescue the townspeople and stop the alien threat.
Fester’s Quest is a shoot ’em up action game that combines multiple gameplay perspectives. Players explore three overhead areas—the city streets, underground sewers, and UFO platforms—along with six indoor buildings that shift into a 3D dungeon-style view. These buildings house powerful alien bosses and serve as key progression points in the game.
Throughout his journey, Fester encounters members of the Addams Family, including Thing, Wednesday, Gomez, Morticia, Grandmama, and Pugsley. Each provides weapons or helpful items, expanding Fester’s arsenal. One special item, the Noose, summons Lurch to instantly destroy all on-screen enemies.
