Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a 2019 action-adventure game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. Set in the Star Wars universe five years after Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, the game tells a powerful, character-driven story during the rise of the Galactic Empire.
Players step into the role of Cal Kestis, a former Jedi Padawan who survived Order 66 and is now forced into hiding. Hunted across the galaxy by the Empire’s deadly Inquisitors, Cal must complete his Jedi training, confront his haunted past, and work toward rebuilding the fallen Jedi Order. Armed with a lightsaber and a growing array of Force abilities, players face off against stormtroopers, dangerous wildlife, bounty hunters, and dark side adversaries.
The game features a Metroidvania-style level design, encouraging exploration and backtracking as new Force powers and skills unlock previously inaccessible areas. Combat blends precise lightsaber duels with strategic Force usage, delivering a challenging and rewarding gameplay experience.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order launched on PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in November 2019 and received widespread praise for its combat system, storytelling, characters, and world design. Despite some technical issues at release, the game was a major commercial success, selling over 10 million copies by 2020. It earned multiple award nominations, including Best Action/Adventure Game at The Game Awards, and won Adventure Game of the Year at the 23rd Annual D.I.C.E. Awards. The story continues in the sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, released in 2023.
